Festivals build group cohesiveness. Festivals inform,educate,bring people together, break the monotony of routine and give us a chance to re-energize our body, mind, and spirit. Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesha.
The sole purpose of the celebration was to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture and to enable them to understand the significance of this festival.
A special assembly was conducted by Grade 5 Eta and a speech about the importance of the Ganesh chaturthi festival and a phenomenal dance performance by grade 5 students.
The students of grade 1 to 6 witnessed the special assembly. There was devotion, and fun altogether.
Today is a day to feel proud about being a part of this great nation. May this spirit of freedom lead us all to success and glory in life. Happy Independence day to everyone! This year, the government of India has organised several events under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav’, with the theme ‘Nation First, Always First’. To mark the day, the government has also aimed to hoist 200 million tricolours. Like every year, this year also, our school celebrated Independence Day on 15 August 2022 with great joy and pomp. The sense of happiness and pride could be clearly seen on the faces of all our students and teachers as India was celebrating its 75th Independence Day. The program started with prayer at 8:30 AM After the prayer, the Principal hoisted the flag. As soon as the flag was hoisted, everyone sang the national anthem with great pride.
Theoretical knowledge in books is not always enough to furnish the essential information to students.Learning process should not only be limited to the classroom environment.So our Pre-primary kids were taken a field trip to Shilparamam.At Shilparamam, children observed different stalls and enjoyed the view of displayed arts and crafts.They observed models which depicted day to day activities of various rural artisans.The children had an interesting field trip, where they experienced India's rich tradition with creativity at one place.

Ganesha is a very revered figure in the whole of India. People believe he can remove obstacles that come in our way and help us gain a more successful life. Mythology states that he was a very righteous and intelligent deity. Hence, to educate our students about this interesting personality we adopted the medium of clay modelling and showing videos on his life stories.
Krishna is a widely revered deity in the Indian Culture. Most of us know him to be "Natkat Nandalal" He is famous because of his unique personality. He was known to be mischievous and a great teacher as well. He was full of love, hope, bravery and exhibited strength. He had exemplary articulation skills too. So many qualities yet a perfect balance that is difficult to fathom.
The Grade 1 &2 students of BOMIS celebrated the birth of a simple yet extraordinary human being who gives us an insight into what are the ideal qualities to succeed in life on the 27th of August,2021. They were shown interesting stories related to the life of Krishna. Art was used as a medium for children to get familiarised with how the deity looked and what were the ornaments he carried. The event culminated with the students getting to taste buttercream cupcakes as it is said to be the deity's favourite food.
भाषा अभिव्यक्ति का आवश्यक माध्यम है और इसी बात को सिद्ध करते हुए Birla Open Minds School L.B.Nagar के कक्षा 1-4 के लिए 'भाषा झंकार ' के तहत दो दिनों की भाषा संबंधी गतिविधियां कराई गईं , जिसमें छात्रों ने बढ़ चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया और हिन्दी भाषा के प्रति अपने प्रेम को प्रकट किया। भाषा झंकार गतिविधियों के अंतर्गत शब्द पहेली, पोस्टर प्रस्तुति, चित्रकारी, फ़ैशन शो ,हिन्दी सिनेमा आदि जैसी कई रोचक गतिविधियां कराई गईं ।
The occasion of Rakhi brings along happiness for you and for your loved ones and gives you infinite reasons to celebrate each moment of your life. On 19th August,2021 students of Grade 1 to 4 celebrated Rakshabandhan with a rakhi making and thali decoration activity. They also exhibited their culinary skills by making a sandwich and sharing it.
On 14th, August, 2021 students of BOMIS-LB Nagar celebrated the bravery of numerous freedom fighters and their gift of freedom by unleashing their artistic temperament which gave us a perspective into their lives. Different activities were conducted grade wise including fancy dress, monologue, recipe using tri-color, flag making and rangoli. Here are few glimpses for you.....
International Yoga Day is a conscious acknowledgement of India's most significant
contributions to the world. In recent times, Yoga has been put to several material and
spiritual uses by people all over the world. Its importance in the physical, mental and
spiritual wellbeing of people is now well recognized in almost all countries across continents
and cultures.
Research studies have shown that traditional yoga systems that include breathing exercises,
asanas, chants, and meditation can reduce stress and improve immunity and lung functions.
Recognizing its universal appeal, 21st June is celebrated as the International Day of Yoga
every year.
On the 21st June,2021, students of grade VIII of the school came together online with great
enthusiasm to get themselves introduced to some interesting yogic postures and chants. The
session was facilitated by Ms Usha who is associated with the Isha foundation and gladly
accepted to do the session for us. She focused on the theme-"Yoga for Wellness" and discussed
the concept of wellness with the students and stated wellness improves concentration leading
to a better spiritual health which further defines our day to day actions.
The session was anchored by Ms Mamta Singh- Head of English Department.
Our Principal , Mrs Paanchali Dasgupta Sahu and Vice-Principal , Mrs Ankita Banerjee were also
present during the session. They played a key role in strategizing the entire event such that
the importance of celebrating this day was well imbibed and execution was done smoothly to
make the event a success.
