Math A Ron:

Without mathematics, there's nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers - Shakuntala Devi. Students participated in various math based activities like quiz, worksheets, puzzles and more for "Math-A-Ron" day. The day was so engaging as well as informative for the students.

Field trip to plant nursery:

There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million." - Walt Streightiff.”. Pre-primary students were wonderstruck seeing the colourful pretty flowers when they went for a field trip to Plant nursery as part of their flowers and plants theme. They tried to recall all the flower names as they were walking through the nursery. Nature in any form enthralls the children.

Bonfire Night:

Colourful pyjamas, cuddly toys, squashy pillows, softy blankets, friends….wow what a fascinating combination... The children of Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla had a delightful “Bonfire night and Pyjama party” at school with their friends and teachers. They had fun dancing, movie time, bonfire with yummy donuts, crunchy popcorn and a delightful dinner.It was indeed a very enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone.

Christmas Celebration:

Christmas is all about joy and happiness. The school wore a festive look with bells, stars, showman, elf and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The quintessence of Christmas came alive with Santa Claus, carol singing, piano musical treat and dances.

Guru Nanak Jayanthi:

Students of Birla Open Minds School, Nallagandla visited Gurudwara to celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanthi. For most of them it was the first time visiting Gurudwara. They were excited and had so many questions for the teachers to answer. They offered their prayers for the wellbeing of all.

Children's day:

The spirit of childhood was celebrated in Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla by making this day a memorable one for our little ones. The students had a lot of fun throughout the day with magic show, dance floor, yummy snacks and special ramp walk by K1 and K2 children by wearing dresses made out of newspaper.

Alpha to Omega and theme culmination:

“Curiosity is the very basis of education” - Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla conducted Alpha to Omega, the science extravaganza for the primary students to bring alive the scientist in them. K1 and K2 children participated in their theme culmination to demonstrate their learning they acquired.

Joy of Giving Week:

“Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give." - Ben Carson. As a part of the "Joy of Giving" initiative, students visited an anganwadi center and an orphanage and shared their blessings and made a positive impact on children who are not as fortunate as them.

Project Based Learning (PBL)

Project based learning can increase the retention of content and improve students attitudes towards learning. Grade 1 and 2 students recapitulated the themes they learned in term 1 through various projects.

Telugu Language Day

Primary grade students of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla showcased their love for the state language Telugu on Telugu language day by exhibiting various concepts and songs which they learnt in their Special Telugu class. It was a delightful sight to see the students perform.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Students of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with joy and devotion. The celebrations began with a phenomenal dance performance by primary students followed by pre-primary students. The graceful expressions given by the students were really breathtaking and won the hearts of everyone present. The premises was filled with devotion, creativity and fun.

The grandparents had a gala time with their grandchildren. Other family members joined the grandparents for the Diwali Mela and had a great fun time with games, mehandi corner, tattoo corner, snacks stall and diyas stall. Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was celebrated by the staff and students of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla. A colourful flower Rangoli – ‘Pookalam’ was made symbolizing peace and serenity.

Teachers Day

"A teacher's job is to take a bunch of live wires and see that they are well-grounded."- Darwin D Martin. The live wires of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla celebrated Teacher’s Day to thank their teachers for their commitment towards teaching and taking efforts to make sure that their students turn into empathic global citizens. Children expressed their love with beautiful cards, poems and also spoke about their wonderful teachers.

VANMAHOSTAV

Van Mahotsav, a week-long festival of tree planting is organized in our school. The celebration of Van Mahotsav Week at BOMPS Nallagandla was an ideal opportunity to instill personal and social responsibility in our students towards safeguarding trees and forests. The focus of these celebrations is towards forming a personal connection between the students and trees through a process of experience, reflection and creation. Our pre primary students participated in various activities like Sowing seeds, nature walk, dress up as a tree and speak about trees. Our grade 1 and 2 students watched movies relating to the concept of "Save environment by saving trees" and briefed the story with the message from the movie.

TIGERS DAY

Don’t strip the stripes from the scenery. Save the tigers, save our national animal!! The students of Birla Open Minds School Nallagandla were made aware about the need to protect the natural habitat of tigers and to spread awareness about the conservation of tigers. The students learnt the importance of tigers, how to save tigers, made tiger masks 🐯, tiger origami , tiger bookmarks, pretend play as tigers 🐅, drama on saving tigers and read books related to tigers during the International Tigers Day Celebration 🐅.

Krishna Janmastami

Children and Staff of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with great pomp and festivity. The little ones added a traditional touch to the celebration by singing bhajans and dressing up as cute krishnas and gopikas. They filled the air with joy and festive spirit.

Independance day

Independence Day has a special place in the heart of every Indian and students of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor. They paid their respect by singing “Vande Mataram","Saare jahaan se accha”, "Desam Manadhe" and "We shall overcome". Students performed gracefully on “Nanna Munna”, "Chakde India", "India walle" and "Suno Gor Se" and enthralled everyone present. They also enthusiastically participated in various art and craft activities like vegetable patterning, handprints, flag making and flag buntings. The celebration ended with the National Anthem being sung by everyone. This event was full of patriotism and enthusiasm that kindled a sense of love for our country within the children.

Culmination

"Teaching is not about answering questions but about raising questions – opening doors for them in places that they could not imagine.” ~ Yawar Baig Our K1 and K2 Children at Birla Open Minds School, Nallagandla exhibited their confidence and public speaking skills by enthusiastically participating in the theme culmination. It was a feast for both the parents and the teachers, when the children explained the concepts taught in the classes.

Teddy Party

Picnic...friends, fun and snacks. It's more fun when we do with our lovely teddy bear. Today students of Birla Open Minds School, Nallagandla enjoyed their day with "Teddy bear picnic" with their friends and their teddy. Munching their favorite snacks, playing with their teddy bears and friends, watching teddy movie, they had a wonderful time.

IHC 1

"It's nice to have valid competition, it pushes you to do better"-Gianni Versace. Grade 1 and grade 2 children of Birla Open Minds School, Nallagandla participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the Inter-House Competition conducted at the campus. Grade 1 children made a landscape painting on the theme "Save trees, Save future" and Grade 2 children made a poster painting with captions on the theme "Animals/Deforestation" and also explained about their poster. Their creativity was so captivating that we all including the external judge "Ms. Purnima Jaiswal" left spellbound. It was a memorable day for everyone.

Friendship Day

In the cookie of life friends are the chocolate chips. Our tiny tots of Birla Open Minds Nallagandla were told about the importance of friendship through a story and enjoyed making friendship bands. They were pretty excited to tie them to their friends.They went home not only wearing their bands but also lovely smiles.

Cultural week

The students of Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla learnt to respect and be open minded towards other cultures during their “Cultural week” theme. They understood other’s perspectives and celebrate our differences and fully experience themselves as a global citizen. Cultural week described the art of living, values and culture of people around the world. Our little explorers enjoyed learning about different cultures and participated in Cultural dramatic play. The nursery and pre nursery learnt the tricolours of our national flag, monuments of Hyderabad city through various activities like colour sorting, national flag sponge dabbing and monument colouring. They also enjoyed making national flag with fruits and vegetables with their friends. They were happy dancing for "Nanna Munna" rhyme. It was indeed a delightful sight.

Bonalu

"Thank you is the best prayer that anyone could say. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding"-Alice walker. Bonalu, the thanksgiving festival to the Goddess is a Telangana traditional festival. Students and Staff of Birla Open Minds School, Nallagandla offered their gratitude on account of Bonalu celebrations.

Bakrid

Bakrid – The festival of sacrifice and devotion. The students of Birla Open Minds celebrated Bakrid by understanding why the festival is celebrated in the special assembly. They greeted teachers and their friends ‘Eid Mubarak’ and did activities to celebrate the festival

First Day of School

“Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom.” — Oprah Winfrey- June 13th was the first day of the academic year 2022-23 for our pre-primary children at Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla.. The transition was smooth with parent cooperation, perseverance and trust in the school. The entire campus was filled with excitement and joy.

Father's Day Celebration

DAD - superhero, role model, friend, guide, mentor, partner, playmate, guardian angel…all in one for his child. We celebrated Father's day on 18th June 2022. The dad and child duo enthusiastically participated in various activities and had a lot of fun during the celebration. The fathers were overwhelmed with joy and thanked the school management for providing such a wonderful opportunity for them to spend a quality time with their child.

International Yoga Day

One who performs yoga regularly is said to achieve a perfect balance between mind and body. A healthy body and a fresh mind leads to a happy soul. Yoga being the part of the Birla Open Minds curriculum focuses on the holistic development of the child. International Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June with great enthusiasm through a special assembly where the students performed various asanas that were taught to them in their yoga sessions.

International Music Day

"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” International Music day is celebrated world wide on 21st June to cherish the spirit of music, through melodies of vocal and instrument. The preschoolers were introduced to the basics of classical vocal. They enjoyed singing and making music through the various musical instruments proving the very fact that early childhood education and music are inseparable.

International Mud day

One great reason for us to be close to Mother Earth. On 29th June International Mud Day was celebrated in the campus, where children were encouraged to experience the joy of playing with mud with a wide range of activities like· pottery, mud painting, mud sensory play and mud handprint. The children were thrilled and excited while doing the pottery activity with the potter. They loved every minute of the day.

Holi Celebration

First day at school, amid the pandemic
Teachers, parents and children are happy to be back at school, and do not wish to return to distance learning. This March 14, the start of the school year for Grade 1 & Grade 2 seemed more overwhelming than ever before. One could observe the feelings of excitement and joy. All the standard safety procedures are observed as children enter the school building: a thermal screening done, and they sanitize their hands.
In the same week, the students had Holi celebrations. Holi is celebrated as the victory of good over evil. It marks the rest and renewal of ruptured relationships by ending all conflicts and ridding oneself of ill feelings accumulated from the past.. Holi is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a fruitful harvest in the onset of summer. It is said to be a time for enjoying warm spring's abundance of colours and bidding farewell to cold winter. We celebrated the festival with dry and eco-friendly manner. Children were made to be aware of not to waste water. Teachers went around applying organic colours on others, only a small dot on the cheek. All students and teachers felt the exuberance of warmth and the joy of vibrant colours applied on them. There was laughter, joy and merry making in the air. They would remember the day with a difference ~ spent cheerfully and left the school with joyous colourful memories.

National Science Day is celebrated in India to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian Physicist Sir C.V. Raman on 28th February 1928.
National Science Day is distinguished to spread a notable message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people. This event was a great platform for students to create awareness of Science & Technology.
Our champions exhibited various science projects, models based on the Programme of Inquiry and Science Fun Activities. The working models prepared for the Virtual Science exhibition by our students reflected their innovative ideas, creativity and talent. The exhibition was a joyful learning for the students.

Republic Day Celebration

Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with immense patriotic fervour and zeal through an online platform. A plethora of activities were organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students.
The students were dressed up as national leaders and spoke about their contribution to celebrate the monumental day. Students also made craft activities & celebrated the Republic Day.

Teaching does not need to be limited to textbooks and blackboards. Learning at Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla, is exciting, interesting and an enjoyable exercise for our young learners. Theme Integration is wonderfully done by our students. Our students made beautiful flowers and wrote table of 9 in the petals. Reinforcing a mathematics table was never so much fun and interesting, but our little mathematicians thoroughly enjoyed writing the table in their own flowers. We also give lot of opportunity for our students to speak in the class room. Show and Tell gives children an opportunity to stand up in front of their friends and speak about a topic that interest them or share something that they love. It builds confidence and helps children develop effective communication skills. We also teach Origami, which provides schematic learning through repeatable actions. Our little blooming buds enjoys the art of folding paper. They made boat and beautiful Tulpi flower. They also made a paper airplane challenge, which was a terrific way to help teach children about science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), all while building their brains and making connections through problem solving. These kind of activity teaches students about the basics of the forces of flight while having fun with paper airplanes.

Virtual Makara Sankranthi Celebration

We at Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla, celebrated virtual Sankranti. The students were told about the significance of the festival.
Celebrating festivals in school is to create the spirit of our culture.
The students were also told about the various names of Sankranti in different states like Lohri in North India, Pedda Pandaga in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Makara Sankranthi in Karnataka and in some states in the west, Pongal in TamilNadu and Magh Bihu by the people of Assam. Magha Mela in some parts of central India. They were also taught about the transition of the Sun on its celestial path, which is also called Utarayan the day on which the Sun begins the northward journey. Makara Sankranthi is also a major harvest festival celebrated in various parts of India. They were also told about the variety of food items eaten in different states during Sankranti.
Kite making activity was organized for the enthusiastic little ones. They made such beautiful and colourful kites, Greetings for the celebrations.
The children enjoyed the virtual celebration with a lot of happiness and fervour.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas waves a magic wand over the world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. Christmas brings cheer and love and we celebrated it with the same fervour, spreading the message of love and joy among our children. Tulip Flower Garden Making

Only children believe that they are capable of Everything by Paulo Coelho. Our children believe in themselves and their confidence is exhibited through various activities. Children at Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla, are independent learners. Our task regarding Creativity is to help children is to climb their own mountains, as high as possible. We teach our kids Origami, the art of folding paper. This activity improves memory, concentration, confidence and patience, which are key to child development. The simple folds of paper help enhance superimposition and refine adjustment strategies in children. Our students created wonderful 'Tulip flower Garden'. 'Busy Birds' Theme

We at Birla Open Minds, Nallagandla, always work on developing a passion for learning amongst our learners. We also believe "In learning one will teach and in teaching one will learn". We teach lots of craft activities to foster communication, listening, attention, and imagination. These activities will enhance the mental health and wellbeing of learners. They also foster the child's fine motor skills, creativity and identification of shapes, colour and texture. In continuation of our theme of 'Busy Birds' our students crafted an endearing 'Penguin', Turkey headgear and they also used their hands to print a flamingo bird as a part of their ongoing theme.
Students also made paper chains using colourful papers. Through this activity, the concept of patterning was also reinforced as many of them used repeated colour patterns. Students also used their creativity by making Santa faces and decorating the paper chains using different colours. Kudos to our creative masterminds! Alpha to Omega (Science Fair)

In today's era, education is not only confined to reading and writing. It is now linked to the holistic development of the children. We at Birla Open Minds help students to experiment with their knowledge and are providing them different opportunities to showcase their skills.
The days, 29 and 30 November 2021 were innovative and experimental days for all the students as we conducted the Alpha to Omega (Science Fair) by our Grade 1 students on a virtual platform. A science exhibition is a wonderful tool that engages students in learning new facts. It develops in them the curiosity to learn more in an interesting and experiential way.
This exhibition made students more confident, creative, future-ready, and learners for life.

Paper Craft Activity

Creativity is making marvelous out of the discarded. Look at our students' creativity. Everyone loves watching birds fly freely. As we welcomed the theme Busy Birds with a Rocking Bird Paper Craft! And the best part is, after making it, students enjoyed playing with their craft watching their rock bird swinging back and forth.
Beautiful Colorful Bird Feeder made by our young 'Nature Experts' as a part of STEAM activity. With these bird feeders, young minds will provide birds a reliable source of food and water. With bird feeders acting as natural food suppliers, birds have a reliable, secure and plentiful source of food to keep them well-fed and thriving.

Fun Creative Activities for Children

Our students had a lot of enjoyment while making a tie and dye napkin for themselves. They were amazed to see how a natural and every day ingredient 'turmeric' with age-old 'tie and dye' technique was able to do the magic and turn a white napkin to a beautiful patterned yellow hue. Our students also did, Blow the cotton ball game -The objective of the game is to blow air through a straw and try to blow the cotton ball from the outside of the play-dough spiral to its center. Our enthusiastic K2 students had great fun in first making a spiral with play-dough and trying to blow the cotton ball. It is a game to enhance a child's visual motor, eye tracking and concentration skills. Learning experiences are always exciting. We also never miss cooking experiences in our Classroom. A kitchen is a learning lab for children that can involve all of their senses. While kneading, tossing, pouring, smelling, cutting, and feeling foods they have fun and learn without being aware of it. Cooking encourages children's thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also promotes the lifetime skill of healthy cooking starting at a young age. Our children had a blast while they prepared the healthy 'Sprouts Chaat'

Children's Day Celebration

Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think. Students at Birla Open Minds Preschool, Nallagandla, celebrated Children's Day & also World Kindness Day. They understood the importance of being kind and children portrayed the act of being kind. Children were dressed up using papers to fabulously project their theme-popular paper. Helping our children feel loved and special can mold their identity and set them up for a healthy sense of self-worth and self-esteem in the future. Self-acceptance is the first step to happiness. Make the best of what you have, rather than being unhappy about what you don't. "I am SPECIAL" card made for themselves to understand that everyone is unique in some way or the other. Let us not compare ourselves to others and forget our own blessings. We also class explored the concept of aerodynamics and fluid flow with a parachute building project .They tested their design with different materials and contributed to the classroom discussion. Hats off to our young engineers testing their skills on gravity. We also celebrated Diwali & conveyed the message "Save the planet from pollution and paws from noise". The best way to make children good is to make them happy. We never fail to do that!

Janmashtami & Teachers Day Celebrations

Janmashtami is celebrated with sheer enthusiasm. Children performed a play on the birth of Lord 'Shree Krishna' and its significance. They also enjoyed making flutes and gained awareness about the Janmashtami Celebrations.
Teachers Day was celebrated by our students by sharing a video message to their teachers & also by creating wonderful greetings on this occasion. The influence of teachers extends beyond the classroom, well into the future.

Few Kids invented the role of Potter, few kids learnt how to create the best out of waste & few kids explained the role of human beings in nurturing nature through "Earth Skit". Children at Birla Open Minds are learning Raving Rain Theme in an exorbitant way. Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be nothing. "For the rain it raineth everyday". Children enjoyed learning & making rain creatures, rainy wear etc.
We also teach them non-fire cooking which help them to do something for themselves. Food should be fun, said by our tinytots!!!!!
Learning should be continued for young learners, establishing a routine and structure is critically important for young people.

Show & Tell Activity

Show & Tell activity – "A chance for children to think 'out of the box' a little and invite their teacher and classmates to come into their own world for a minute or two". Being the center of attention for a couple of minutes will make them feel more confident and valued. Children brought their own created Ocean model and presented about it. Children were with full of confidence and great communication skills. Show and tell for the win!

We celebrated the International Day of Peace to strengthen the ideals of peace and the importance of peaceful living and co-existing. We encourage our kids to spread compassion, kindness and love. We also teach our kids that "Peace begins with a smile".

The Day to LEARN Something NEW

We make EVERYDAY, the day to LEARN something NEW. It's not the Teaching. It's the Learning. We went on a Virtual Field trip to Zoo to say Hello!! to the animals and had a Zoo-tiful day. We had Story telling sessions and visited Muthu Mama & Muthu Mammi and we also travelled on a broom along with the cat, dog & frog & What not……..!!! Happy Grandparents Day 2020 & Ganesha with Granny!!

On this occasion of grandparents' day, the grandparents took time for their grandchildren to make a recorded video and joined the online session and shared their love & support. We celebrate this day to mark the significance of that relationship which has a very important meaning in the life of the small stars taught by us and helps in the preparation of a beautiful tomorrow.

Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. Being grandparents can be one of the best feelings in the world.
The bond between grandparents and grandchildren cannot be described in words. Grandparents not only give birth to good habits and moral values in children, but when they joy unlimited, they become their friends. While parents try to provide all that they can give to their child for all-round development, their rise is incomplete without their grandparents. All our children made Clay Ganesha with their Grandparents.

Fancy Dress Day!

What an unforgettable day it was! Children can be the best natural "copycats" around. They love to mimic and impersonate their parents, and want to become just like them. The girls will want to dress up and wear makeup like their mother, and the boys will typically want to be big & strong just like their father. Children love it when they are included in any activities with the adults because they feel like they are at the same level with their parents or elders. To excite both children and parents Birla Open Minds Preschool - Nallagandla had their Fancy Dress Day on 17th August 2020.
It was a pleasure to watch our younger ones dressed up as different characters and speaking confidently. This activity was fun and excellent for children as it sparked their imagination and made them think more. It stimulated creativity in parents when they had to mix-and-match whatever items they could find at home to make their children's costumes and props. Kudos to all the children and parents for making Fancy dress Day a memorable one!

What an exciting day to see our K2 children showcasing immense confidence presenting the many learning facets of Kindergarten on stage. Their dances were full of energy, their rendition of songs rhymes was very melodious. The final farewell was a hilarious rendition of bidding adieu to our preschool rhymes sung as in a choir, with a Punjabi undertone, like a rap, as sung in Carnatic music, or as sung to the tone of a patriotic song. Their special memories will remain with us as we bid adieu to the seniormost class of our preschool. We love each one of you! Good Luck! You are rockstars!

Holi Celebration 2020

The Holi festival was celebrated by the children of BOMPS-N with utmost joy. Children played dry Holi with raining colourful confetti. Colourful art activities related to the festival were made by the children of all the levels with lot of enthusiasm.

Fashion Fiesta@ BOMPS - Nallagandla

Children of K1 @ BOMPS Nallagandla learned all about materials made of cotton, jute paper, metal, etc in term 2.
As part of the culmination of these themes and also to encourage mother and child collaboration in group projects, 'Fashion Fiesta' was organized. Children recapitulated the thematic concepts, identified all materials and brought about their creativity by decorating their dolls and toys during this event. The following were the rounds of this workshop... 1. What's the secret element inside? 2. Five minutes to examine all the reused material on the display that will be used for the construction of the outfit. 3. Making the sketch ready and give a wacky title 4. Collect the materials (Each group gets 5 mins) 5. One hour for making the dress 6. Last 15 minutes for extra embellishments. 7. Children decorate their dolls. 8. Take the best shot of your creation. 9. Ramp walk

Children always understand things when it is shown to them practically and in a fun way. At the showroom, Nursery children pretended to be formula 1 racers along with their peers, explored the car engines and much more. A day outside is a day well spent in learning.

The children of Birla Open Minds Nallagandla became grand and performed grandly for their grandparents. They gifted them with life long sweet memories. It was wonderful to see grandparents' active and healthy participation during 'Brain Gym' activities.

K2 Field Trip to Clock Showroom

Children Of K2 visited a Watch and Clock showroom and learned about analog clocks, digital clock, electric clock, pendulum clock, and many others. Children were excited to find tiny wheels inside the clock and recapitulated the many facts learned about wheels in the previous theme.
A one of a kind exploration happened when they saw many tiny metals/materials inside the tiniest watches and clocks through the magnifying specs. Our timekeepers had a fabulous time! Time spent at the showroom was surely precious learning time!

K1 Field Trip to Dominos Pizzeria

All our Golgappus of K1 A and K1 B visited Dominos Pizzeria. The aroma of the freshly baked Pizza had a scintillating effect on our enthusiastic connoisseurs... The process was thoroughly enjoyed more than the actual product. From making to consuming, the Pizzeria trip was a delicious delight!

Recognizing the colors, mixing the colours, identifying the colour names, scooping the potatoes to the jar, mouse race, making teddy bear masks were the many kind of activities of the Brown Day Celebration in the Nursery class.

Field Trip to 'TATA MOTOR SERVICE STATION'

As part of the ongoing theme about vehicles, K2 children went on a field trip to 'TATA MOTOR SERVICE STATION'. Children had an in-depth insight into what goes inside the dynamic vehicles, the types of tools used by the community helper, 'Mechanic', the process of cleaning and washing the vehicle and much more. Our heartfelt thank you to the staff of Tata Motors for their kind hospitality and for letting the children explore the different sections of the service station.

World Read Aloud Day

The four skills of language learning are LSRW - listening, speaking, reading and writing. On the occasion of World Read Aloud Day, listening to phonic sounds and sights words activities were conducted for children of K1A & K1B. Speaking skills were reinforced through the medium of picture reading and logo reading. Jolly phonics songs with actions were sung by the children of Nursery and Pre nursery. A wide range of application-based reading activities such as boarding Pass reading, calendar reading, receipts reading, menu card reading, pamphlet reading, traffic signs reading, and sentence making through a woolen thread web was arranged to enhance children's awareness of the various printed materials available in our environment other than regular books. instead of writing, K1 children directed their friends to make letters using their bodies.

Filed trip to Natural Fresh Store

To the market, To the market off I go,
Oh'Natural Fresh' is a fruit and veggie store.
Oranges and pears strawberries and gourd
The veggie vendor showed us so much more.
I will share with mommy,
fruits and veggies are never ever going to be bore,
I will always ask for some more!
The sight of fruits and veggies widened the eyes of our Nursery children during their field trip to 'Natural Fresh'.

K1 Field Trip to Farm House

K1 children spent a day at the farm with animals, their natural habitats, learnt about their eating habits, their adaptations to the surroundings and much more. Children understood and appreciated the importance and relevance of what they are learning.

Parent Teacher Conference - Term 2

Parent-teacher conference - 2 was held on 18th January 2020 at Birla Open Minds Nallagandla N where teachers and parents came together to discuss child's performance so as to enrich their learning experience and ensure progress in all areas of academics and extra curricular.

Vasanth Panchami Celebration

Children celebrated Vasant Panchami, a festival dedicated to goddess Saraswati. Children recited beautiful shlokas and bhajans expressing their respect to the goddess of knowledge, language, music and all arts. Ms. Aadhya from K1 beautifully dressed as Goddess Saraswati brought grace to the event. Children also learnt about the musical instrument 'veena' which is the favorite instrument of goddess Saraswathi.

K2 Field Trip to HDFC Bank

Learning about currency, money and coins and we don't go to a bank? !!! Children made their way to HDFC bank to explore the many facets of the bank - identifying fake note vs real ones, the money counting machine, savings account, ATM, the difference between value and numbers, credit card and Debit card, secret pin measures, the steps to withdraw cash, the logo of the bank and much more ..... all at their level... a foundational course in banking in Kindergarten- 2. Birla Open Minds' Bankers rock!

K2 Field Trip To Farm House

Under the shades of trees strolling across the open fields, K2 children explored the farm animals and their habitat during their field trip to Farm House. Children also learned about the role of the farmer and the different tools they use to cultivate the farm.

Republic Day Celebration

HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY!
The essence of India is in our villages. Keeping in mind the ongoing themes children of K2, K1 A, and K1 B made the Indian flag with the help of veggies and pulses. Children of Nursery made a flowery flag. Our PN children enjoyed Indian flag tattoos on their hands. While PN & Nursery children sang our national anthem, children of K1A and K1 B sang patriotic songs.

We visited a Plant Nursery,
Roses, Dahlia chrysanthemums and periwinkle,
They all bloomed together there,
Just as we are blooming in the class of Nursery,
Learning so much about flowers from everywhere.

The crow I learnt is not always thirsty,
The pigeon can also be,

My thirst to know all about the colour 'Grey'
was quenched a lot.

Sankranthi Celebrations 2020

Children of BOMPS - N experiencing happiness and togetherness celebrating Makar Sankranthi. Children had a wonderful opportunity to indulge in activities like 'Kite Making', 'Fugadi Dance' and 'Kite flying'. It was a pleasure offering rice to our little 'Haridasu' and his graceful acceptance of it made this occasion one of it's kind. Children continued to spread their joyous smiles participating in 'Bommala Kollu' and enjoyed the stories of dolls. Pongal ..O ....Pongal to one and all.

Bonfire Night 2020

The spectacular and seamless galaxy welcomed the little stars of BOMPS N to a perfect slumber party. The bonfire lit up the children as they danced around as though no one was watching! They gazed at the stars and the bedtime stories landed all our astronauts on the different phases of the moon calming all their lively spirits. Shadow art, spacecraft race, passing the moon game, pretend brushing and movie with popcorn just amused our little rockstars so much that their hearts wanted more....! What a night it ought to be!

Field Trip To Farm House and Fun Filled Farm Activities

Farm outside the school and farm inside the school. Every child had to be consoled to come back from farm. That says it all.....children and animals are naturally and emotionally connected and are inseparable. Children continued to experience the feel of being on the farm at school with activities such as milking the cow and shearing the wool from the sheep.

'Field Trip to a Florist Shop - K2

Learning to make a bouquet is a special skill our children of K2 learnt today.

Delicate handling of the flower, smelling of the flowers, symmetrical arrangement, creative design thinking, and thinking of a whole picture by adding small parts, were the many objectives achieved today during the field visit to a florist shop.

Session with A Painter - Dr.Nidhi

Art and an artist splashes colour into our lives and everything around us. Dr Nidhi - an artist and parent volunteer taught the children of BOMPS - N the technique of 'Wet water paint' and the children were mesmerized when the water and the colour just beautifully gelled and spread across creating beautiful landscapes. Thank you, Doctor and Painter, Ms.Nidhi for your time and spreading the 'Joy' of colours.

2nd Anual Sports Day Meet 2019-20

Sports do not build character; they reveal it – Hey wood Brown. BOMPS – Nallagandla's Second Annual Sports Day meet 2019-20, was conducted on 29th November 2019 @ Birla Open Minds International School, Kollur. The day witnessed the energy, josh and true spirit of sportsmanship of our little sportsmen - our children. The most relevant and the core essence of the theme 'Greenathon' was impeccably displayed in every race and every drill through a medium of resplendent props, teamwork, and coordination. The consistent applause of parents, the joy of playing games, and the 'never give up' attitude of our children made this day a grand success.

Our Nursery children were taken to a fabric store to enhance their kinesthetic experience. Children curiously traversed around the fabric store to connect, explore and learn about the topic of the ongoing theme pertaining to 'Fabrics'

A healthy and progressive environment promotes an 'Everyone is a winner' attitude. Our K2 children worked collectively during the Culmination activity - 'Bird Quiz' and the reward was communal. The energy, the prompt answers, and the excitement was just mindblowing! Kudos to our K2 team.

K1 - Field Trip to Stationery

Field trip gives a new learning experience to children. They enhance children's curiosity about a given subject. Our K1 kids were immersed in the thematic information given by the teachers, visually and practically understanding the topic. An extremely kinesthetic experience!

Nursery - Field Trip to Gulmohar Park

Nature enhances children's learning, confidence and creativity. Children of Nursery were taken on a field trip to Gulmohar park as part of their theme pertaining to pets and animals. Children had a great time exploring and navigating in open green space.

K1A & K1B Field Trip to Gulmohar Park

It was a nature-enriching experience for the little ones who flapped their wings with the birds, made sounds along with the birds, felt the fresh green grass, explored the size and measurements of the trees.Children weaved their own stories and let their imagination shine.

Term 1 Open House

Parent-Teacher meeting was conducted at the end of the Term-1 to have an effective and healthy interaction on the overall progress and development of the child. Thank you, parents, for your feedback and participation and for making it a great success.
